So what about Christmas holidays, is it now time to get booking? It is very early in the year still, not even September, and Christmas holidays are being searched more and more often. The search volume has actually increased a large amount. People have decided that instead of booking those last minute holidays, to go after holidays that they can plan for over Christmas.
From January to the end of July, the search volume for such holidays was so low, that there was no need for web-sites to start targeting them. Now however the volume has jumped to a much more competitive amount, that it has become prudent for tour operators to take drastic action. The pages designed for Christmas holidays are being redesigned and outfitted with some powerful keywords, and the site itself is making a change to promote it.
It is difficult to determine what people are looking for when they search for a Christmas holiday? Is it the overseas holiday that they are really looking for? The term Christmas holidays applies to many different areas. Not just to those, that are actually looking for a Christmas holiday away, but also to those looking for bank holidays, the specific day of Christmas and Boxing Day, not to mention new years.
But what if the people weren’t really looking for holidays, doesn’t this pose a bit of a problem for tour operators? Or are they already anticipating a rise in searches for these holidays. If you have a look at the search trends throughout the past year, if the trends keep to how they have in the past, the search for these holidays ceases early in november. At this time of the year, you would think that people would be searching more, rather than now. One thing is for sure this term is becoming very competitive and soon it will be a very hard term to match. So what are you doing?
